Numbers

The numbers have different pronunciations. Here is one through twenty, then by tens to one hundred. First in English, then in Spanish

 one, uno

 two, dos

 three, tres

 four, cuatro

 five: cinco

six, seis

 seven: siete

 eight: ocho

 nine, nueve

 ten, diez

 eleven, once

 twelve, doce

 thirteen, trece

 fourteen, catorce

 fifteen, quince

 sixteen, dieciséis

 seventeen, diecisiete

 eighteen: dieciocho

 nineteen: diecinueve

 veinte

As you can see, 21-29 change. Instead of saying veinte y uno (twenty and one) you just change the -e and y to and i to combine the two, to get you veinteuno. you do this when you conjugate 31-39, 41-19, and so on, too.

 twenty one, veintiuno

 twenty two, veintidos

 twenty three, veintitres

 twenty four, veinticuatro

 twenty five, veinticinco

 twenty six, veintiséis

 twenty seven, veintisiete

 twenty eight, veintiocho

 twenty nine, veintinueve

 treinta

 cuarenta

 cincuenta

 sesenta

 setenta

 ochenta

 noventa

 cien

The banana is yellow. The banana in spanish is el plátano, because you are being specific as to what banana and it is masculine. Yellow is amarillo. El plátano es amarillo.

The orange is orange. In Spanish the food orange is a different word than the color. The food orange is naranja. Sine it is specifically saying what orange, you would use la because orange is also feminine. La naranja es anaranjado.

My mom is fourty-four. My mom is mi madre. forty in spanish is cuarenta, so you would change the a to i and add four(cuatro). Mi madre es cuarenticuatro.

Tom is twenty. Twenty is just veinte, so you would leave it that. Tom es veinte.

Another way to tell age, is to say I have 16 years. Have is tener and since the subject is I, it gets conjugated in the first box, but it is a "go" verb. Also, sixteen is dieceiséis, and when putting six in a number, you add an accent, where the regular six does not have an accent. Yo tengo dieciséis años.
